"Le Divorce," which means "Divorce -- French Style," is easily the most playful film ever by director James Ivory and producer Ismail Merchant.

HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

"A glossy, articulate and tasteful soap opera that will be catnip for Merchant/Ivory fans."

Daniel Eagan, FILM JOURNAL INTERNATIONAL

"It's a confirmation that Ivory and Merchant remain at the very top of their game."

Wade Major, BOXOFFICE MAGAZINE

"rich comic filmmaking... a deliriously stylish new comedy from Merchant Ivory"

Karen Durbin, Elle

"literate comedies are so rare these days that I feel grateful for this elegant one. "

Sarah Kerr, Vogue

"A simply exquisite, compelling film; your eyes never stray from the screen"

Liz Smith

"This funny romance mocks and appreciates French and American culture so
beautifully that I had to buy some Gauloises and a Diet Coke on my way to le metro."

Tina Chadha, Jane

"it teems with the lively offhand specificity of a great read.
To be honest, and to risk sounding like a hack, I never wanted it to end."

Bruce Handy, Vanity Fair
